Next Step Coach was founded in 2003 by Brian Dowd to encourage and enhance the personal leadership of those with an entrepreneurial spirit and a vision for more through personal coaching.
“There is nothing I enjoy more than seeing someone I care about take a risk and succeed, knowing that I played some part in it.”
“As a competitor and a former college coach, I know that every 1500 meter track race has a critical moment; it’s where the real race begins. Will the athlete make the move, fall behind or surge ahead? I want to be right there on the edge of the track at that very moment. That way I am right there with vicarious energy and coaching insights to make the small, but critical difference needed for success.”
“Now as an Executive Leadership Coach, CPCC, I team with individual leaders working through their visions, challenges and opportunities. Everybody has their race to run and victory to win. The issue may be scalability, key staff decisions, or personal clarity for the next chapter. Victory requires preparation, focus and structures that assure a clear path forward. As an Executive Leadership Coach I get the familiar sense of standing on the edge of the track cheering with the right energy and insight. For me, it’s in my coaching relationships where I get to soar.”

Brian lives with his wife Amber and three kids in Folsom, California. Brian was first attracted to her due to the fact that she was a college soccer coach.
Brian still loves to run, but is not even close to his earlier form of a college Conference Steeplechase Champion. San Ramon Valley High School, his alma mater, captured his passion by naming the perpetual trophy for the cross country athlete that demonstrated the most inspiration as the Brian Dowd Award.
